Our client is an established leader in the construction industry who are known for their high quality practices. They are now seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing civil contracting business.
With a project portfolio that includes both small and large scale projects for excavation, earthworks, roads/highway/RMS, demolition and building, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and on time estimation services to ensure tenders are competitive, low risk propositions, as well as supporting the project team to ensure variations are priced accurately.
Reporting to: Estimating Manager
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare initial estimating assessment of tenders for shortlist review
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tender documentation
- Final preparation and presentation of BOQs and / or cost plan for review
- Comparison and analysis of subcontractor pricing
- Conduct regular meetings with key subcontractors throughout tender period
- Prepare job files for handover of successful tenders to project team
- Preparation of project budgets for review
- Assist in preparation of construction variation works
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a building related qualification or trade with experience to equate to degree
- Minimum 5 years post experience in similar role within the construction industry
- Proven knowledge of tendering, building standards and estimating procedures
- Proven experience in Civil infrastructure projects for roads and earthworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent eye for detail including the ability to read construction drawings
- Ability to build rapport at all levels
- Proficient in Buildsoft, Project Centre, Suretrak and Microsoft Office suite
