John Holland, with joint venture partners CPB Contractors and Ghella (JHCPBG JV), have been awarded the contract to deliver the $2.81 billion second stage of Sydney Metro, City and Southwest, Australia’s largest public transport project.
With a new crossing under Sydney Harbour, the 15.5 km TBM tunnels will run from Chatswood, through the CBD and then to Marrickville. The project includes building complex underground structures for six new stations in Crows Nest, North Sydney, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Pitt St and Waterloo.
We are already mobilising and looking for ‘high performing’ people to join us to deliver this iconic project and leave an amazing legacy for the people of Sydney.
To assist in the next phase of our mobilisation, we are looking for an Environmental Coordinator to join our Environment Team based in Chatswood.
Key responsibilities within your role will include;
- Assisting the Senior Environment Co-ordinators in the implementation and continual improvement of the Project Environmental Management System
- The development and implementation of site specific environmental documents
- Implementing an environmental management induction program
- Assist project staff with environmental inquiries
- Assist in the implementation of site environmental controls
- Undertake environmental monitoring and inspections
- Participate in audits
- Assist in the investigations and close out of environmental complaints.
To succeed in your role, it is expected you will:
- Tertiary qualification in environmental science and/or planning discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of NSW regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with current and emerging environmental issues
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience within the Construction industry is desirable.
