Category Manager will undertake market, supplier and category analysis to establish and continually develop category strategies and objectives, analysing options and implementing action plans to deliver category outcomes and successful procurement practices across commodity groups. Furthermore, you will be required to develop sourcing models and maintain supplier relationships to support the procurement life cycle

Description
- Ensure understanding and engagement with vision, purpose, and strategic and stakeholder considerations at Manager and Team levels
- Foster continuous improvement
- Implement and develop procurement strategy for nominated portfolio with particular focus on strategic and material contracts
- Develop category and sourcing strategies plans
- Working in partnership with the Strategic Sourcing Manager and Specialists support execution of category and sourcing strategies with major go-to-market events from inception to contract execution for period and panel agreements
- Liaise directly with business units to research, assess and prioritise stakeholder medium to long term requirements to ensure value for money outcomes and risk assured solutions are achieved such that Procurement is seen as a valued business partner
- Support the development and implementation of the Supply Base Management strategy and the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) strategy
Profile
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline or substantial appropriate experience in a capital-intensive industry
- CIPS Accreditation considered an advantage
- Strong commercial background with experience in project procurement for capital intensive industries
- Excellent analytical skills and strong command of analytical methodologies
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- In depth understanding of the principles and application of the Legal Framework policy
