Higgins Coatings is Australia's premier commercial painting contractor in providing a complete painting maintenance service and solutions to a broad range of industries. Our Building Services division has a small team of qualified and licensed building experts capable of undertaking a broad variety of pre-painting repairs, remedial work and general building maintenance services.
Due to growth, we are currently looking for a hands-on Project Manager, to make their mark in our Adelaide based business which focuses on multi-site, remedial building and maintenance projects across South Australia. Our main sectors include aged care, education, government and hospitality. This role is critical to supporting the continuing growth of the business, managing multiple on site works and costing multiple small projects.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have a high level of autonomy and be responsible for multiple concurrent small projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding scope of works, estimating costs of labour and materials, submitting tenders and quotes to our clients
- Ordering materials and planning labour requirements, including negotiating sub-contractor agreements
- Developing program schedules
- Working with our foremen on site to monitor and manage all aspects of the work on site to ensure each project meets or exceeds budget, meets agreed timeframes and to specification
- Problem solving of day to day issues, maintaining and developing relationships with clients
- Overseeing contract administration work

Skills and Expertise
Due to our varied projects and work sites it is essential that you are able to travel to sites across Adelaide. To succeed in the role you will come from a trades related background, ideally in remedial type work. You will also need to demonstrate experience in managing multiple work sites with multi-trade contractors and able to work closely with the client to resolve issues.
- Building related Project Management experience
- A valid Building License
- Estimating/Costing experience based on building drawings/take offs
- Attention to detail
- Construction contracts administration
