SunWater is Queensland’s largest bulk water service provider with an 80-year history of delivering world-class bulk water solutions for agriculture, industry, mining and urban communities. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Planning Engineer which will provide whole of life planning and advice across asset portfolios for north and central Queensland regions.
About the role
The successful surveyor will be leading, delivering and scheduling the deformation surveys on SunWater and external client’s dams and weirs. You will also undertake other engineering surveys (including embankment crest and dam structure details) and GPS surveys as part of AHD validation.
The following will also be part of your role (but not limited to):
- Plan and execute an efficient annual program of deformation surveys for SunWater dams and weirs, ensuring the projects on time and within budget;
- Coordinating SunWater and external contract work to ensure priorities and deadlines are met;
- Providing technical and professional support to engineering staff and providing guidance on standards and procedures related to surveying; and
- Liaising with clients, external agencies and professional bodies to ensure that survey practices reflect industry standard practices, are relevant and appropriate to meet current and future needs; and to monitor surveying industry trends and keep abreast of technology developments.
About you
The successful candidate must have demonstrated and have proven experience in the following (but not limited to):
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging surveying and mapping technology, particularly related to water resources applications and the ability to prepare contract documentation for the engagement of surveying and mapping services;
- Diligence and excellence in record keeping;
- Strong ability to manage a workload;
- Keeping up with latest developments in technology and techniques related to survey;
- Be registered as a Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland; and
- Have the ability to travel away from Brisbane (at least 100+ days a year will be in regional areas).
