The Business Unit
The Property Business Unit is responsible for the overall management of all Council’s buildings such as community centres, administration buildings, childcare centres and public toilets. The Property Business Unit will deliver the following services:
- Building Assets
- Facilities Management
- Property Management & Commercial
- Asset Strategy
- Aquatic Centres
The Role and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Receptionist/Customer Service Assistant is required to efficiently and effectively carry out all reception responsibilities at the Centre, and to supervise and/or carry out the general administration duties pertaining to the reception area.
- Provide consistently superior customer service to both external and internal stakeholders, both in person and over the phone
- As the first point of contact for the WAC, actively promote the WAC in a positive way to enhance the image of the organisation
- Maintain an up to date working knowledge of WAC Services, products and activities by liaising and working together with other WAC staff, so as to provide efficient and effective customer service
- Effectively handle all enquiries and complaints and manage any conflict in a professional manner and, where possible, resolve issues at first point of contact

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service, including the ability to be responsive to the needs of people from different customer groups
- Experience in handling and reconciling cash, cheques and credit card transactions
- Current WWCC Clearance Number.
- Understanding of continuous learning principles, equal employment opportunities, occupational health and safety and ethical practice principles
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, continuous learning, EEO, Workplace Health and Safety and ethical principles.
- Ability to attend training and meetings outside of rostered hours
