Purpose of the role
The purpose of the Goals Coach role is to generate leads for the business and to facilitate the customer’s experience through discussion and exploration of goals and ensure they understand the value of advice enough to engage in it, and to ensure those that have experienced, to reconfirm their goals before a more formal engagement with the Adviser.

That movement is the combination of financial planning with life coaching, empowering customers not only with the wisdom to achieve financial independence but also to achieve the goals they have always aspired to.
Main focus areas
- Assist the new business team to build a pipeline of prospects for the business
- Generate a number of leads and work with advisers to help them generate leads from their existing client base.
- Facilitate the customer’s experience through identifying the goals they aspire to achieve as part of their idea of a ‘best life’, from the first goals exploration phase.
- Help the customer understand what is important to them and facilitate the customer in articulating, capturing and developing a pathway towards their goals through a defined and consistent AMP Advice process, featuring a balance of technology and good coaching conversations.
- Review customer profiles and goal data to uncover all relevant goals and guide them through a process to prioritise and fully understand these goals, to enable success and a fuller appreciation of the value of advice.
- Generate and provide a Goal Summary document, that will include the development of indicative strategies to deliver agreed objectives and goals, including associated pricing and levels of service where appropriate
- Work closely with Advisers to ensure they fully understand the customers goals and objectives as part of handing over and transitioning each customer to the adviser, to ensure a seamless end to end customer experience
- Work closely with the Adviser to meet ongoing service management obligations including agreed interaction and service arrangement with the customer
- Working closely with the Concierge to welcome the customer
- Work closely with the other Goals Coaches across the employed and self employed network providing mentoring & coaching where applicable.
Experience required
- Proven prosepecting and new business abilities
- A strong network or ability to build a network in order to produce new prospect interations
- Strong pipeline management abilities in order to meet client expectations
- A measurable and demonstrated track record of excellent customer service and customer satisfaction
- Experience in hospitality, training or teaching would be advantageous
- Understanding of Financial Planning and the Advice process
- Demonstrated use of coaching skills and motivational techniques when working with clients, with a proven interest in attaining recognisable accreditations in this field within the first 12months in the role
Qualification/s required
- You will have or be working towards Diploma in Financial Planning
- You will work towards meeting the minimum hours of required professional development training per annum
- You would ideally have, or will work towards achieving relevant certificate of coaching skills (e.g. Exec Coaching, Level 1) within the first 12months in the role
- Qualifications in coaching, psychology, organisational behaviour or human resources desirable.
