The Organisation
Our client is one of the newly arrived corporate / wholesale banks in Australia. Over the past decades their operations ventured out to the Asia Pacific region by acquiring assets from the world’s leading capital holders. As a group they never stop looking at all practical means to enhance and innovate their strategies. which contribute to their progressive capital growth and strategic expansion into Australia.
The Role
- Report to the General Manager, take the lead for the Branch’s end-to-end operations and IT functions, to develop and establish banking infrastructure of systems, processes and required resources to achieve the Branch’s growth outcome
- Work hand-in-hand with other key functions of the Branch (eg. Financial Markets, Treasury, Risk Management, Administration etc.) to make sure all necessary are set up in an greenfield environment
- Implement efficient and compliant IT and operational systems
- Monitor and measure operational risks in consultation with other departments
- Build and train up the local operations team
- Responsible for timely review and report to senior management and Head Office
The Requirements
- At least 8-10 years of Corporate Banking operations experience in Australia (preferrably a foreign bank)
- Proven experience in, and knowledge of, Corporate Lending (Syndicated Loans), Trade Finance, Treasury, Financial Markets, Settlements and Customer Account operations and their IT/banking system requirements
- Previous experience working with local regulators
- Superior communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven team management experience with the ability to deliver systematic training
