Australia’s leading domestic bank is seeking an ambitious Risk & Assurance Specialist to support their first-line Business & Private banking business. This role is centred around ensuring risk is being appropriately assessed and managed, working directly with key stakeholders of the business.

This team as some of the top risk professionals in the industry, with a divisional head that is focused on employee development and their progression.

 Responsibilities:

• Support the Executive Manager in executing the team strategy to support risk management objectives 
• Ensure there is effective oversight, governance and management of operational risks and controls for the Business & Private Banking division
• Provide risk guidance on various business projects and ensure appropriate frameworks are in place to manage project and business risks
• Complete targeted reviews of critical controls and self-assessments
• Collaborate with senior business unit leaders to achieve optimal risk and return outcomes

Required Experience:

• 6+ years’ experience in Operational Risk / Control Framework role in a recognised financial institution or Big4 Consultancy firm with Financial Services client base
• Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team of specialists
• Proven track record of effective stakeholder management and driving outcomes
