The Role
The opportunity is as an analyst for the electricity derivatives desk which trades on both the Australian and Singapore exchanges. You will be responsible for supporting the trading book on both markets through daily analysis of current and forward market variables, upon which trades may be executed. Additionally, the role will have a strong focus on developing the candidate into a trader, with trade execution beginning on both markets as soon as possible with the opportunity for significant growth as your competency increases.
Responsibilities:
- Daily analysis of fundamental market data to support trading operations
- Execution on the Australian market, growing over time
- Providing trade suggestions based on analysis
- Execution and analysis on the Singapore market
- Execution on other commodities markets, with opportunities for further growth over time
Skill Set and Experience Required for Position:
- Minimum 2 years analyst experience within the Australian electricity market
- Any trading experience will be looked upon favourably
- Collaborative and able to work within a close knit team
- Intimate knowledge of the Australian electricity market
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively with all market counterparts
