What are these roles about?

With a sound understanding of the regulatory framework, provide specialist advice and guidance in relation to regulatory compliance matters, and support the enterprise in managing regulatory requests where technical expertise is required. Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to the  enterprise,  identifying control uplift requirements ,for controls linked to obligations, to ensure compliance..

 

Some of your key responsibilities include: 

  • Interpreting regulatory obligations and/or  2nd Line regulatory compliance policies and frameworks to:
    • Deliver guidance to the business so as they can determine relevance of the obligation
    • Document control descriptions as part of work programs / initiatives / remediation to ensure compliance.
  • Assessing control design for controls linked to obligations created outside work programs / initiatives / remediation to ensure compliance.
  • And as an AML, Sanctions Consultant professional you will provide AML & Sanctions subject matter expertise and advice across the enterprise and where required undertake complex customer, payments and transactional reviews to support the business assess the AML & Sanctions risks presented.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in managing regulatory compliance.
  • 2+ years’ experience in AML or Sanctions. (AML, Sanctions Consultant)
  • Experience in core banking processes that are subject to high levels of regulation.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management and compliance disciplines.
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Practical approach to solving issues with strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. Tertiary or professional qualifications in law will be an advantage

 

To be successful in this role you will be required to demonstrate strong business analytic skills and have a background in risk, compliance or assurance. You will be highly motivated, a self-starter who thrives on tight deadlines and demonstrates attention to detail. You will have strong communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills enabling you to hit the ground running and adapt a proactive approach to solutions.
