About the opportunity

The main function of this role is to coordinate and manage the financial and administration tasks for the Indian Ocean Territories by providing assistance to the managers on Christmas and Cocos Keeling Islands and the Business Manager for LINX. The role will report to the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development (DIRD) as dictated by the Indian Oceans Territories Port Facilities management contract.

The role will identify ways to assist management from a finance and administrative perspective and ensure that all required tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable (MYOB and Oracle)
  • Reconciliation
  • Ensuring integrity of reimbursables
  • Responsible for financial end of month processes
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and commercial proposals
  • Assist in the production and development of budget and forecast processes
  • Ordering stationery and answering phones
  • Assist operations with other general administrative tasks

About your experience

With the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment, your oral and written communication skills will be second to none. Your strong attention to detail coupled with your ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders will see you excel in this role.

Key skills and experience will include:

  • Proficiency with MYOB (AccountRight) and Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems with Oracle experience highly regarded
  • Exemplary administration skills
  • Strong Stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities
