Senior Collections Officer Job | Permanent | $70k + super | International Wholesale Company | Autonomous Role
Your new company
Our client is an international wholesale company based in the lower north shore. Due to growth within the organisation, there is an opportunity to join the team in a newly created collections officer position within the finance team. The offices are bright with a view of the harbour and within walking distance to the train station. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to own the collections function as well as help to set up the policies/procedures around the position.
Your new role
As this is a newly created role, you will be helping to set up the policies and procedures around the role. As the collections officer, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a ledger of 40-50 key customers
- Building relationships with key customers
- Following up on outstanding payments
- Approving orders for delivery based on payment of account
- Ensuring orders are processed within the approved credit limit
- Collections - ensuring payments are made within the agreed terms and processing of credit card payments to ensure on time delivery of orders
- Managing the banking and payment allocations
- Handling customer account queries
- Working collaboratively with your colleagues to achieve delivery within deadlines
- Ad hoc reporting
What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for someone who is a team player, has the ability to think outside the box and can problem solve as this role requires you to help key clients to find solutions to their payment issues. You will have previous experience in a similar role and have experience with a large ERP system. As this role will require you to be on the phone, you must possess excellent communication skills and great interpersonal skills.
