Finance Manager: Large, Listed Financial Services Organisation

Role

Hudson is working with a highly sought after financial services business in Australia to recruit an enthusiastic and results-driven candidate in a junior commercial finance manager role. The ideal candidate will be qualified/nearly qualified, look to progress within a growing organisation and offer exceptional communication and critical thinking skills in a highly analytical role. They have fostered a high performance culture with a motivated finance team in place who operate closely with senior level stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

• Support your senior leadership team by providing financial management services and decision support, while building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Manage the monthly financial activities and deliverables for your Customers, analysing month end results, prepare month-end journals and monthly variance analysis whilst ensuring data integrity.
• Provide timely and relevant financial information and insights, analysis and advice in support of managing the financial performance of the business unit and delivery of productivity initiatives.
• Prepare and validate monthly General Manager and Cost Centre Manager reports. Assume responsibility for accuracy of contents and the timeliness of their submission to relevant parties.
• Assist in co-ordination, preparation and development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including driver based plans in support of insightful analytics and business performance management
• Ad-hoc business & financial analysis which supports timely and high quality business decision making
• Actively driving continuous improvement and productivity driven initiatives across the Finance team
• Identifying and escalating issues and ensuring appropriate risk management and financial control practices are in place

Required from you:

• CA/CPA qualified with up to 3 years + post qualification experience
• Demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and analysis)
• Commercial experience
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience in building and maintaining business relationships
• Advanced MS Excel (incl. Pivots) and Powerpoint
