This position is for a commercially astute, hands-on person who has energy, insightfulness and who is genuinely a team player. This would suit a forward-facing accountant who wishes to pursue a much broader business career and who can support the GM as a true 2iC and business partner.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a degree in accounting or related field and have the ability to communicate well, be persuasive and enjoy negotiations. With 5+ years experience in a senior accounting role, you will now be ready to broaden your your career into business operations & management.  As a lateral thinker you will see opportunities for our business and be able to help us act on your recommendations. 

KEY DUTIES

  • Deliver accurate division and consolidated financials, providing reports to the GM, board and auditors, in accordance with the business timetable.
  • Assist and guide accounts staff in managing the affairs of our businesses.
  • Undertake analytical reviews and assist key staff in achieving the budget and strategic plan. 
  • Identifying and evaluating development opportunities for the company’s administrative infrastructure.
  • Partner the GM of the business and truly be the person who can manage the on-going operations of the business for on-going periods.
  • Take responsibility for legal matters of insurances, leases, banking, ASIC reporting and so forth and in time take accountability of the position of Company Secretary.
  • Liaise with various internal stakeholders regarding process improvements.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating and negotiating acquisition opportunities.

ABOUT US

We are a compact, multi-division, unlisted public company, who has recently (and very successfully) implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV along with Phocas cloud-based BI solution. We are a small team of nine, split between our office 10 minutes south of Perth and in Mulgrave, south of Melbourne.  With 37 years under our belt, we have a clear strategic plan which calls for acquisitions in the immediate future.
