DTA continues to innovate and develop the product range while maintaining its professional quality in both the DIY and Trade markets. 

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, and part of the senior management team, you will lead the operations of the company including supply, distribution, customer service, facilities and planning with strong liaison between sales, administration and finance.  You will ensure that operations are in line with the strategic and operational goals of the company.  Some key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the operations planning process including supply, inventory management and forecasting
  • Ensuring the integrity of the inventory system is maintained
  • Work closely with sales, finance, to develop Supply Chain procedures and processes
  • Understand customer needs and optimise customer service
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders (internal & external) for all supply chain activities
  • Assist with the exploitation of ERP systems to facilitate accurate and relevant data enabling operational and efficiency gains
  • Analyse inventories to determine how to optimise scheduling, increase inventory turns, and minimise slow moving inventories.
  • Develop analytics, systems and data management capabilities, including metrics and reports
  • Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals, identify and manage risk within the supply chain area
  • Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning and other optimisations in order to grow the business
  • Drive Change and efficiencies in order to facilitate sales growth and customer satisfaction

The ideal candidate has significant experience in a senior leadership position. You have demonstrated experience in running a high performance operations function while providing leadership and direction to several reports across different divisions and achieving targets and objectives. You are a hands-on leader with the ability to develop a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

You have exposure to Wholesale, Retail and After sale service preferably in the Hardware industry. You must have outstanding problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities with the ability to work in a tight deadline environment.
