Global Marketplace is seeking a mature, experienced leader with an appetite for growth and innovation. This new role has been created to steer the development and growth of Power Retail, Australia’s leading news and information resource for e-commerce retail.

E-commerce is the fastest growing sector of retail, and Power Retail is extremely well-placed to capitalise on the next digital shopping boom with an engaged audience of this region’s leading e-commerce professionals. Established in 2010 and enjoying sustained success, Power Retail is now entering its second stage of development with investment in technology, resources and data to create a best-of-breed intelligence resource for the e-commerce sector.

We're looking for a commercially-savvy and creative professional with experience in content, data and media to join our senior leadership team and enact the business’ vision for Power Retail.


About the role

This new senior role is full-time, based in Melbourne and reports to the Managing Director. No two days will be the same as this dynamic business produces everything from books, live events, and digital media to networking dinners, market research and data products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing current and future Power Retail team members, including editors, content creators, researchers, and analysts.
- Managing the implementation of and development of the Power Retail 2.0 vision and project plan
- Directing content and data product development to achieve the strategic vision of the business
- Conceptualising and developing initiatives for business improvement
- Continuous improvement of customer experience across all aspects of Power Retail for sponsors, advertisers and subscribers
- Liaising with agencies and stakeholders
- Managing budgets and performance reporting
- Audience development, community-building and database management
- Researching and implementing best practices in digital media and data subscription for product improvement
- Senior input into business planning, marketing and strategy.

Skills and Requirements

Working out of our new head office in Melbourne, candidates must be an Australian resident with the following minimum qualifications and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Data, Communications, PR or related disciplines
  • Extensive experience in managing content, research and data
  • Extensive experience in managing product development and growth
  • Extensive experience in data analytics
  • Exceptional writing and creative ability
  • Have advanced analytics and reporting skills
  • Have experience managing budgets and agencies/suppliers
  • Experience in stakeholder management and people management
  • Have strong leadership skills
