The Opportunity
 
This is a position that requires a robust and strategic leader who bring a work winning attitude and capability in everything they do.  With a wealth of engineering investment in the pipeline in Australia, this sector is yours for the taking.  The Area Sales & Bid Manager will be responsible for establishing strategic direction and leading local sales teams, driving growth and execution of major project bids.
 
 
Key Responsibilities of the Role
  • Lead a high quality sales and bid team to ensure high quality execution of major pursuits in the region
  • Develop effective strategy to ensure bids are developed accurately and in meet all requirements
  • Utilise existing and contribute to further development of record management systems
  • Consult with a multi-disciplinary team of sector specialists across a range of fields
  • Develop an effective priority management system and that the team is appropriately distributed to meet targets
  • Consult with sales leadership team to monitor financials, operational performance and general KPIs are being maintained.
  • Deliver first-class client management and engagement to ensure enquiries are addressed and expectations exceeded
 
Key Skills and Characteristics
  • Degree qualified in Business Management, Communications, Marketing or similar
  • 10+ years’ experience in proposal sales with at least 3 years’ in a management or leadership role
  • Sound knowledge multi-disciplinary engineering sectors including but not limited to transport infrastructure, buildings, water and environment
  • High level resilience and mental agility
  • Commercially minded with sound analytical capability
  • Excellent client management capability and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and make decisions
  • Highly people focused with a focus on developing strong team culture and last relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
