What is Accor’s Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour? 


No two days are the same at the Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour. This is the location for many of Australia’s most desirable harbourside attractions. We are seeking a Conference & Events Sales Manager to join our Sales & Marketing Department and offer the opportunity to work in an exceptional team that fosters learning, development and career progression. 


Reporting to the Associate Director of Sales, you will:

  • Manage successful business acquisition strategies for Meetings & Events and The Ternary event space. 
  • Manage and drive productive sales relationships with existing client base of conference agents, corporate meeting planners and PCO’s.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies & conversion targets for the team.
  • Identify need periods and periods of high demand and implement appropriate strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Monitor competitors within region.
  • Prepare and make recommendations on C&E sales forecasts.
  • Provide quotations for conference and events proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs.
  • Negotiation of rates and terms and conditions.
  • Work with the operational departments to ensure we achieve excellence in customer service and repeat business from managed accounts.
  • Work with the revenue team to ensure the overall strategies of the hotel are achieved.
  • Attend outside sales calls, trade shows and meetings in the pursuance of the above.

  • Be highly organised and creative in this challenging market place.
  • Have the ability to pro-actively manage the team well and be able to adapt to shifting priorities in workload.
  • Deliver outstanding sales negotiation, drive sales activities and team performance in winning the business from competitors.
  • Ability to form strong relationships and establish personal brand.
