An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional to join the team at LCIS (Local Community Insurance Services), the specialist business unit that offers national services to not-for-profit and community groups. 

This role will be based in Adelaide and work closely with the LCIS team to develop and utilise existing strategies to generate new business opportunities and build relationships with prospects as well as manage a portfolio of clients.  Specific duties will include:

  • Develop and manage LCIS opportunities and generation of leads including increasing awareness of LCIS to deliver portfolio growth;
  • Provide insurance advice and services to the larger key groups in the existing client base;
  • Assist the LCIS team with the creation of client engagement processes, strategies, promotional documents and activities;
  • Report writing, tender response, research, analysis and project management relevant to LCIS;
  • Advocate risk management services and concepts and understand their application relevant to LCIS clients;
  • Build rapport with community based associations, peak bodies representing community memberships and other identified stakeholders;
  • Attend events and actively participate in networking opportunities and relationship development;

The successful candidate must have previous experience in marketing roles within the service industry specifically in business development and marketing, ideally we are seeking candidates with:   

  • 5 – 6 years’ experience in a servicing role looking after small to medium enterprises or community groups;
  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking Compliance or equivalent, risk management experience with sound knowledge of insurance products;
  • Understanding of the legal framework in relation to liability and legislative framework for incorporating Associations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels;
  • Strong relationship management skills and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Sound research capability;
