About the business and the role

We are currently looking to fill the position of Account Executive for our Oman Air division, based in Sydney.  

Oman Air is the flagship carrier of the Sultanate of Oman and an official four star carrier as awarded by Skytrax.

The role is part time at three days per week.

Applicants must have previous experience in the travel and tourism industry preferably in managing a sales territory or in field sales, however consideration will also be given to candidates with a strong relevant operational background looking to make the transition into sales.

Note applicants must have own car.

Candidates successful in reaching the interview stage can expect to receive a response within 3-4 weeks of application.

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop and undertake a sales call and activity plan to maximise sales revenues and opportunities for the airline
  • Use available airline reporting to continue to target key revenue sources and further develop strategies within the sales territory
  • Source new leads and opportunities
  • Coordinate and deliver professional and informative sales presentations and sales tools
  • Source market intelligence
  • Attend some after hours industry events 
  • Complete CRM reporting requirements
  • Some interstate travel may also be required from time to time

Skills and experience

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five years experience in the travel and tourism industry - this is a mandatory requirement.  Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
  • A thorough understanding of distribution practices in the Australian travel industry
  • First hand knowledge of airline and tourism terminology and practices and prior GDS experience
  • Previous experience managing a sales territory or in field sales in the travel and tourism industry highly advantageous
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Excellent time management skills and organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • To be goal orientated with a genuine passion for sales development
