THE GROCER - FOOD DISTRIBUTORS
The Grocer is a family owned food distributor based in Canning Vale, Perth. We are looking for a full time customer service focused, experienced sales person.
If you like working in a small team, have excellent customer service and sales skills and are highly organized you will enjoy this role. You will report to the Sales Director in Canning Vale, with most of your time spent on the road visiting our retail customers.
LOCATION
Based in Canning Vale.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To grow sales to all existing retail customers in the Perth metro area, Perth Hills and the South West.
- To identify and recruit new retail customers.
REGULAR DUTIES
- Regularly visit retailers to take orders. This includes building and maintaining relationships with current customers and reviewing ranges.
- To promote new product lines to existing customers.
- Regular customer tastings – weekly or fortnightly on a Thursday or Friday afternoon, and occasionally on a Saturday.
- Attend and participate in food shows from time to time (including on the weekend).
- Regular visits to the south west of WA reinforced with regular contact by phone and email.
- Attend weekly sales meetings in the office.
- Supporting our interstate supplier visits by introducing them to customers and doing tastings with them.
- Getting to know our suppliers – this involves visiting WA and eastern states based suppliers to develop a comprehensive understanding of their product range.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Success in the role will require a passion for great food and interest in following food trends, a friendly and customer focused attitude, an interest and experience in using mobile technology and social media, and above all a sales growth focus. A proven track record in sales within the food industry is essential.
