Due to an internal movement, an exciting opportunity has become available to generate and convert new business opportunities, develop customer accounts and manage all sales activities for the Material and Mineral business products in all assigned territories and vertical markets.
The sales engineer will propose and execute policies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential. Establish a deep base of industry intelligence and market knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual sales plan to meet and exceed market area sales revenue targets, including strategies to:
- Develop rapport with existing and prospective customers and industry bodies and drive new business opportunities.
- Develop partnerships and/or good working relationships with local complimentary businesses to enhance market positioning and intelligence.
- Prepare quotations and tender submissions for the market area in liaison with management and carry out follow-up with customers for Process Analytics products and services.
- Sell product support agreements (PSA) with new equipment sales wherever possible.
- Discuss trends, customer concerns, and competitors’ activities with the Regional Sales Leader.
- Provide feedback on market outlook, progression on sales opportunity progression to enable clear market and sales development to enable clear visibility for business forecasting and planning.
- Regularly communicate with all departments involved in product manufacturing with regards to dispatch times, spare parts information and availability, documentation.
- Complete on-time weekly and monthly reporting.
- Contribute to the formulation of marketing plans and growth strategies.
- Guidance and mentoring for the Sales Engineer.
- Feedback to internal departments from the marketplace.
- Work closely with Regional Sales Leader to coordinate marketing/sales activities.
- Follow Standard sales work processes.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BS in Geology/Mining, Engineering, Physics, or other technical/science degree.
- Minimum Diploma tertiary qualification in sales and marketing.
- Current Driver’s License with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- Minimum 5 years industry experience in product sales and service or engineering.
- Experience in the preparation of quotes, tenders.
- Some knowledge of or experience at managing people.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel, domestically and internationally.
- Attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- A self-starter and able to work, autonomously and a team player.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- High level knowledge of and skills in field instrumentation or process control systems.
- Sound knowledge of mineral processing techniques.
- Business development strategies.
