About the opportunity
Based in Perth, this position is a dual purpose role providing both project-based Human Resources and Project Accounting support functions within an EPCM projects office in a part time capacity (2-3 days per week). You will work in collaboration with the Senior HR Advisor/Project Accountant to provide human resources and project accounting support functions within an EPCM projects team environment.
Provide Human Resources functions, including:
- Support personnel recruitment, requisition and on-boarding, HR database updating, timesheet management, project accounts and expense claim processing and project invoicing
- Build and maintain effective client relationships with the human resources, employee relations and commercial departments of a major mining client
- Attend to client requests for information subject to project protocols in a timely manner
- Project-facing HR support to the project team and fielding general HR queries, interpreting HR policies and procedures
- Supporting senior project, construction and functional management on project HR issues
- Interfacing with corporate HR function to establish and implement policies and procedures
- Recruitment, interfacing with corporate Talent Acquisition function and employment agencies, candidate screening, arranging interviews, market rate benchmarking and on-boarding
- Management of the personnel requisition database including job classifications and remuneration
- Monitor, maintain and update project HR databases, procedures and processes
- Management of the Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) program in accordance with the client requirements
- Assisting with rollout of corporate workplace training
- Participating in remunerations reviews and administering remuneration changes
Provide Project Accounting functions, including:
- Proficiency in the use of Oracle
- Maintaining and updating project bill rates, project related records, including accounts ledgers, contracts and change orders
- Creating project invoices for billable labour and expenses, completing monthly reconciliations and investigating variances
- Reviewing, processing and on-billing subcontractor invoices
- Ensuring payments are collected and investigating outstanding payments
- Weekly reporting of aged receivables and unbilled revenue
- Reviewing, approving and processing expense claims
- Project timesheet system processing
- Updating project workbooks and processing write-ups/write-offs, as well as contributing to OPR reports (Gross Margin and Billing)
About you
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma Qualification in Human Resources and/or Accounting
• Previous working experience in human resources and accounts functions within professional services organisations
• Understanding of remuneration structures and levels
• Ability to formulate and interpret HR policies and procedures
• Advanced level skill in MS Excel
• Intermediate level skill in commercial-based database financial systems
