To further enhance the organisations people strategy, a newly created role of Workers’ Compensation and WHS Advisor will support the Zero Harm Manager to deliver the Bapcor WHS and Workers Compensation strategy, providing advice to assist in building a high performance compliant safety system and culture.
You will primarily be accountable for monitoring and maintaining the Bapcor WHS system and workers’ compensation framework including, relevant WHS reporting across Bapcor, providing advice and support with complex WHS matters, escalating serious WHS noncompliance in a timely manner, claims management and return to work activities across Bapcor with a primary focus on effective claims management to reduce injury costs and ensuring injured team members are able to return to work in a supportive and safe environment.
This outstanding opportunity to take ownership and work with a highly experienced Zero Harm Manager to help drive and deliver strategy. This opportunity will suit individuals with a passion for workers compensation and safety. Your proven experience will include:
- Qualification or related experience in the Injury Management field including Workers’ Compensation with associated tertiary degree
- Accreditation as Return to Work Co-ordinator
- Experience managing claims and working with relevant state-based legislation across a multisite operation and diverse workforce and risk profile
- Proven track record in reducing claims rates and premiums for workers compensation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and improve processes
- Genuine care and empathy
