Reporting to the Head of Content and Communications, the purpose of this position is to generate and manage advertising sales clients across the organisation's print and digital assets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a dynamic sales strategy as the business transition into a digital environment. You will generate and manage advertising content by direct selling of advertising space to meet or exceed budgeted levels of revenue and manage and control all required activities related to the purpose.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Sell advertising space to meet or exceed budget requirements for the organisation's print and digital publications and assets, including print and online.
  • Develop strong relationships with current advertisers and forge new relationships with new advertisers.
  • Identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities across the wider  business, including the member benefits programs.
  • Bring in new advertisers targeted to and relevant for the organisation's content and readership, with a strong focus on brand development.
  • Take classified orders, liaise with the finance department over invoicing and payments, and maintain the advertising database. These duties involve operation of the Pongrass advertising system, Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign.
  • Create and maintain database and hard copy records of all advertising orders.
  • Gather advertising material and administer commitments and artwork requests to ensure the correct publication to meet client expectations.
  • Liaise with Finance Department and clients to ensure tight credit control and accurate invoicing.
This is a 13 month month parental leave contract role. You will have a thorough understanding of advertising and the media buying industry with demonstrated knowledge coupled with practical skills of publishing process. Specific knowledge of Pongrass publishing software is essential.
