TechCar has an exciting opportunity for a web developer to assist accelerating growth of our car sharing software. TechCar as a start-up was established in 2014, with (V1) being utilised by one of Australia’s Leading Universities to manage their enterprise car fleet.

This is an exciting opportunity for a web developer to assist in maintaining a world leading car sharing solution. TechCar is approved by the Australian Government (Australian Trade and Investment Commission) for rapid development and export of our world leading technology, into the overseas car sharing market.

All research and development, programming and project management is all managed from our Melbourne based office. TechCar does not procure any overseas resources being an Australian owned and managed company, we only employ local talent. Your working hours will be Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, based in our Coburg office.

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following attributes:

1. Proficiency in HTML, PHP, Bootstrap Grids, CSS and JavaScript (Vue.js experience a plus)
2. Experience working with SQL or a variant thereof
3. Experience working with web servers (NGINX, node.js)
4. Proficiency Programming using Object Oriented Programming
5. Experience using design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
6. Experience with Bitbucket or GitHub
7. Relevant tertiary qualification, industry certification or equivalent work experience
8. Must be willing to learn new techniques and methods on the fly
9. Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
10. Ability to effectively work autonomously and as part of a team

It would also be highly desirable if you had any knowledge of:

1. .Net development
2. Agile processes and management tools
3. Azure Cloud Services or Amazon Web Services
4. Experience in creating technical designs and specifications for App development.
5. Excellent knowledge of build and deployment processes.
6. Experience with Stripe or Braintree
7. A portfolio of web development work

You will be an individual with strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills will ensure you are able to effectively support the wider business with all administrative tasks. If successful, your communication skills and ability to adapt well to various environments will see you fit into the business with ease. Further, a vibrant and engaging individual who enjoys supportive duties as well as various ad-hoc tasks will be highly regarded. You must have the ability to work well independently and thrive on success.

Your day to day tasks will include:

• Debugging errors and communicating with users
• Upgrading API end points and improving / trimming legacy code
• Maintaining the server so that it can continue day to day operations
• Independently developing new features to complement already existing website

You will have a squeaky-clean record as you will be required to clear a National Police Check. Additionally, you will hold a current Victorian drivers licence, as you will be required to test your development within our company test fleet of vehicles.
