Due to increased growth, we require more software engineers to assist our existing technical team in Prahran, Melbourne.

Specifically we are looking for:

 2x Senior Java Developers (Java, Spring, Gradle)

 2x UX / Front End Developers (React, Redux, Webpack, CSS, HTML)

An attractive rate of $80-100/hr is on offer for experienced candidates.

Due to the high paced nature of this role you will be required to be present in the office. Remote work is not an option initially but would be considered after the first month.

We are open to flexible working hours but require a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

Ideally you will have your own laptop and ABN or work through a contracting agency.

About Us

We deliver an aged-care IOT product that utilises wireless smart home sensors to detect activity and provide peace of mind to concerned loved ones.

The hub also acts as a home assistant for seniors by playing audible voice reminders.

Our stack includes:
Z-Wave, MQTT, Linux on ARM, 4G Cellular Connectivity, Java, Spring, Redis, Postgres, jOOQ, Javascript, React, Redux and Saga . We rely heavily on, but like to think we are not dependent upon, Amazon AWS (S3/EC2/ELB/RDS/CloudFront/CloudFormation/CodeDeploy).

Our tools include:
Jira, Confluence, Github, CircleCI, Slack, Swagger and Postman. We build with Gradle, NPM and Webpack.

About you

We are looking for experienced developers who are familiar with the above technologies and comfortable contributing from week 1.

As part of the development team you will write code for our core-product. The majority of your day will be spent writing code, unit testing or chasing down bugs provided as feedback from ongoing commercial or clinical trials.

Required Attributes

• Degree qualified in Computer Science / Software Development (or similar)

• Minimum 5 years industry experience

• Familiar working in an Agile development environment

• You must have the right to work in Australia

• Demonstrable contributions to software projects (commercial or open-source)

• Attention to detail (please include the word ‘detail’ as the first word in your cover letter or email)

• Ability to work to deadlines and perform under pressure

• Able to contribute to (and sometimes reverse engineer) an existing codebase

• Does not suffer from NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome

• Ability to communicate in English

• Ability to work well in a small team

Desired Attributes

• Experience with technologies in our stack (see above)

• Full-stack abilities (we often do many jobs in a small team)

• Experience writing quality unit tests for both front and backend

• Experience using/designing RESTful web services

• Experience/Interest in real time IOT communications and time series data

• Strong Postgres (or similar SQL based) RDB experience

• Experience with embedded / hardware development

• Interest in data analytics / AI machine learning technologies
