From a simple personalised letter through to a fully integrated multi-channel marketing campaign, our bespoke solutions cover the full range of expertise required to deliver highly personalised time sensitive direct campaigns. This includes expertise in database management and processing, system automation, custom programming, high speed variable inkjet and colour digital printing services, integrated mail processing, intelligent inserting, plastic wrapping, fulfilment and return mail management.

We have developed a sophisticated campaign management capability which gives customers access to the full spectrum of e-communication options. We work proactively with our customers to develop new and innovative products that lift response rates and maximise return on marketing investment.

The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic IT Developer to join our Blue Star DIRECT team in Homebush NSW.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Write, test and maintain code to ensure the output meets the business requirements
• Involved in the development and maintenance of databases
• Work closely with the IT, Customer Service and Production teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of output
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
• Attend client meetings as required to provide technical support and direction
• Ensure all deadlines are achieved and informing your manager immediately where deadlines cannot be met
• Ensure quality procedures, standards and work instructions are followed at all times
• Innovate and implement techniques to streamline and improve productivity

Key requirements to be considered are:

• A good understanding of database architecture, integration issues, third party reporting and data extraction tools
• Keeping abreast with technology to make the organisation operate efficiently by developing, testing and implementing new IT solutions
• Experience with Document Composition tools for output to Print, Email, SMS & Web
• Background in Email / Marketing Campaigns
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Knowledge of structured programming methodology, data analysis and design skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to staff across all levels within the organisation
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to respond to users/business requirements, queries and meet deadlines
• Availability to provide after-hours support as required
• Ability to work well under pressure and to balance competing priorities to deliver timely outcomes
• Must have a strong team focus and be able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills

Qualifications and understanding required in the following areas:

• Strong technical skills in .Net, C# & SQL Server
• Experience with Email Platforms such as Vision6 & Exact Target (HTML / CSS) or similar
• ASP.NET, Web Development, DHTML, VBScript, Jscript
• Experience with Printsoft PReS
• Experience working in a service industry such as BPO, mail house or imaging service
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Sound skills in project/task management and change control processes
