Senior PHP Developer

My client is looking for a very energetic and highly technical individual to join their team.

Job tasks and responsibilities
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate expertise in coding web based applications using PHP, JavaScript and writing W3C compliant code. You must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving capabilities and an ability to complete projects independently within a designated timeframe.

What would you be doing?
- Implementing core Chocolate Coded products and services
- Assisting with product definition and user story generation
- Contributing ideas for architecture and tools

Skills and experience
Most importantly, you must have a great attitude and be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients.

Essential Skills:
- At least 3 years industry experience
- A university degree in I.T or similar
- PHP 5 experience on commercial projects
- A solid understanding of object-oriented approaches and the MVC software pattern
- At least 2 year of experience with the Laravel Framework
- Experience with RIA Frameworks (Angular2, React, EmberJs, VueJs)
- Great HTML and CSS skills, with pixel perfect delivery of designs
- An understanding of cross-browser issues and how to avoid them
- Experience with object based JavaScript
- Familiarity with version control, specifically Git and GitHub
- An understanding of Agile Methodologies and Scrum project management

Highly Desirable Skills (aka Bonus Round):
- Commercial experience with Test Driven Development
- PHPUnit, RSpec, Cucumber, Selenium etc.
- Familiar with Sass/Less
- Experience in Android or iOS mobile development
- A passion for design and elegant code
