About the role

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the position must:

  • Migrate Phoenix Austec Group in-house AD to Azure
  • Ensure IT investments are aligned with the direction of the business with a focus on customer service
  • Drive automation of the RMM (Connectwise Automate), reducing customer impact and improving customer service
  • Provide expert advice and insight into the portfolio of IT services provided.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of ITIL based processes in service strategy and service design
  • Contribute to the development of a mechanism to evaluate, prioritise and communicate decisions regarding potential business and IT projects
  • Managing end user and manager expectations, realigning SLA/KPI's, etc
  • Design, implementation and management of SMB ICT/networking infrastructure projects, programs and solutions including voice communication systems and services, storage area networks and network security systems.
  • Provide high level administration, design and support of both on premise and cloud (Office365/Azure) technologies
  • Deliver Level 2/3 IT Support to a high standard
  • Support Active Directory, Group Policy, Powershell Scripting, Windows 2008/2012/2016 server
  • Provide technical training to Level 1/2 staff members
  • Participate in on-call

Other roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Document processes and procedures
  • Functional testing of new features prior to user release
  • Development of customer self-help content
  • Managing and maintaining the system imaging process.
  • Exposure to Agile and Lean practices (e.g. stand-ups, effective cards, retros, etc)
  • Answering inbound support calls to assist users with access / usage issues (reactive support)
  • Proven experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tooling
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern operational awareness (events and telemetry, monitoring, alerting, etc) tools and practices

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years of systems administration experience in a medium-large sized windows environment. Hands on with Windows server administration (2008, 2012, 2016) across all common roles (AD, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V)
  • 4+ years' technical experience in the field of managed IT services. Direct to customer support in person and via phone / ticketing system.
  • 2+ years managing networks. Network device configuration and troubleshooting skills (Routers, Switches and Computers). Hands on Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 Routing configuration experience. Demonstrable knowledge of Ethernet switching, IP routing, MPLS, VPN and QOS.
  • 2+ years' experience in business analysis (gathering and analysing requirements, designing solutions, running customer workshops, documentation, etc.)
  • 2+ Years experience managing and configuring Connectwise Automate
  • 2+ Years experience with Autotask RMM
     

Certification / Education Requirements:

  • University Degree in relevant field.
  • Microsoft Certified MCP (Azure exams required)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or similar.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • Cisco Certified CCNA or CCNP
