As a market leader in agile and DevOps for SAP, demand for our products continues to grow.  We’re looking for a new solution development & support specialist to join our team and expand our operations and 24x7 support service into the Australia and Asia Pacific region.

We’re an established business with a global customer base and already have a revenue steam and a number of customers in the region.

The role:

The role is extremely varied, best suited to someone with a ‘sleeves rolled up’ mentality, an appetite for multi-tasking, team working and the drive to get involved.

Our team is highly customer-focused and the position will see you undertaking a day to day role to develop, test and support software around our certified SAP solutions suite.  It will also involve remotely supporting product installations with customers.  All developers are expected to support your peers with code reviews and constructive feedback.

You will also be responsible for on-site solution implementations and upgrades for our DevOps Toolset for SAP.

Working with customer representatives at many different levels, you will need to be comfortable with both technical subject matter and the ‘bigger picture’ business issues that drive change.

We’re a global business so expect regular travel within Australia and Asia Pacific.

This role will report into the Development and Support Lead which is managed globally out of the London UK office.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide customer support for existing customers and products.  Involves support ticket management, handling, analysis, problem solving and debugging often via remote connection to customer’s SAP systems.  Flexibility to operate outside core business hours where needed
  • Design, develop and test product enhancements and bug fixes as per agreed plans and deadlines (using Agile development methodologies)
  • Plan and manage technical implementations of software at new customer sites
  • Plan and manage software upgrades, configuration and adjustment at existing customer sites
  • Act as subject matter expert on the use and configuration of the DevOps Toolset across a variety of business scenarios

What we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 of years of SAP experience in a technical area and will be a highly motivated self-starter, with plenty of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Attitude and aptitude are extremely important.

Our clients cover a range of different industries and are located throughout the world, so travel (sometimes at short notice) is an integral part of the role. The right individual must be flexible and able to manage their time effectively.

Confidence, the ability to influence others and excellent communication skills are all a must.

A summary of the skills and attributes that we’ll are looking for is as follows:

  • A good understanding of the fundamentals of SAP (minimum of 5 years’ experience)

  • Strong SAP application development from basic ABAP through advanced technologies
  • Excellent analysis and debugging skills
  • RFCs/BADIs/BAPIs
  • ABAP OO
  • Dialog programming
  • Report writing using ALV and ABAP lists
  • User exits/enhancements
  • SAP-centric software product lifecycles
  • Relational database design
  • Use of structured methodologies in software development lifecycle
  • Change management, transports and source code control
  • Must have ability to effectively articulate a solution

Other desirable skills include:

  • SAP HANA knowledge
  • SAP BASIS knowledge
  • SAP Web UI development experience (BSP, WebDynpro)
  • ABAP Unit
  • Test Driven Development (TDD)
