About the role

Reporting to the Data Governance Specialist, you'll play a key role managing the design and documentation of data models, architectures and frameworks to support business and project activities. You'll be working with the business to align data with the business goals and strategic outcomes with significant involvement in data migration and integration.

The role will be expected to:

• Define and review data architecture artefacts, including design templates and naming standards
• Design of data integration and data migration activities, advising on the transition to future state.
• Contributing to the development of an enterprise data architecture landscape (i.e. data flows and core data sets)
• Analyse and design data models to meet business (reporting) and project requirements using best practice techniques
• Identify data problems and patterns (i.e. data analysis)
• Developing data models with an enterprise mindset (i.e. think big, act small)
• Produce and maintain data model documentation and related meta-data
• Provide advice and input into data design decision and activities as part of continual improvement processes
• Consider and articulating risks, issues and concerns relating to the ethical use of data
• Actively participate in project meetings to influence the thinking of stakeholders to ensure best practice data lifecycle management

Skills and experience

• Experience understanding and interpreting data requirements into models to aid in communication and shared understanding
• Experience analysing datasets, identifying problem patterns with an ability to interpret and articulate the cause
• Experience using T-SQL, Microsoft Excel, and data profiling tools
• Knowledge of insurance or financial services industry would be advantageous
• Knowledge and experience with Data Vault would be advantageous
• Highly analytical and well developed problem solving abilities
• Ability to influence and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience in communicating effectively across business departments, project teams and organisational levels
