Pioneer Credit is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced Test Analyst to join our busy IT department! Reporting to the Senior Test Analyst you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of test plans and cases using manual testing techniques.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with Business Analysts and team members to identify and develop functional and technical testing requirements
- Development of System, Functional and UAT test plans.
- Development of test cases, and test scripts.
- Execution of test cases and scripts, and reporting of defects.
- Thorough documentation and evidencing of all testing activities.
- Monitor, investigate and resolve production support issues relating to in-house applications
- A proactive approach and commitment to improve the QA and testing process, constantly looking at how we can do things better
- Ongoing regression testing of existing software
What you’ll need:
- Alignment to the Pioneer values framework; the Leadership Principles
- A minimum of 2 years recent experience working as a test analyst on business critical web based applications
- A thorough understanding of structured test methods and processes
- Experience in performing the full test lifecycle, from the preparation of high-level test plans to the execution of test cases, ensuring thorough documentation of the results
- An in-depth understanding of the end to end software development cycle
- Proven experience working with on multiple databases like MS SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2, and the ability to interrogate and manipulate data using SQL
- Basic knowledge of testing XML related standards and technologies
- Strong experience and knowledge on the following technologies - Project and Defect Management Tool – JIRA and HP Quality Centre
- Experience producing systems documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders to understand and document testing requirements
- A commitment to quality, attention to detail, and a thorough approach to work
It won't hurt if you have:
- A Financial Services background
- Experience or exposure to .NET code
- Experience of Automated Testing like Selenium
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- ISTQB or similar
