About the position

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Database Developer to join our busy and innovative IT team. Working with a small group of technical professionals, you will undertake maintenance, development and database performance improvement duties in the data services area of the IT environment. Some of the key duties include:

• Provide support in the areas of database administration and development
• Design and plan the implementation of data solutions and support the implementation and upgrades of systems to maximise performance
• Research, analyse and report on a range of possible solutions
• Liaise with departments and key management regarding ongoing projects and improvements required.

Our key requirements are as follows:

• A minimum of 3-4 years' experience within a similar Data role with experience in SQL programming in Postrgresql and SQL Server and experience optimising Postgresql functions
• Strong experience in data modelling
• Data warehouse and XML experience
• A related tertiary qualification and industry certifications would be highly regarded
• An ability to be able to work in a busy and rapidly changing business, remaining flexible and demonstrating presence of mind
• Ability to work and deliver outcomes with a start-up approach with attention to keeping solutions simple and adding business value quickly and frequently
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to relate business needs and risks
• Possess a passion for Data quality

Experience with the following would be highly regarded: 

• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Graph Databases such as Neo4j
• AWS environment experience
• Python experience.
