Our esteemed govt. client wishes to engage highly skilled Senior Java Developers for a long-term contract role. There is almost 2-3 years’ worth of work in this role. Start dates can be discussed!
About the Role & Duties:
Our Client requires the services of Sr. Java Developers to assist in designing, developing, unit testing, implementing and maintaining Java systems and services. The services will include and not be limited to:
- Designing and developing complex technical solutions that meet business needs, design specifications, industry standards, agreed service levels, departmental policies, procedures and corporate objectives such as enterprise architecture artefacts;
- Working with departmental methodologies to maintain and support existing capabilities and develop new functions and capabilities;
- Troubleshooting and remediating system incidents, problems and defects;
- Developing, maintaining and unit testing system components;
- Providing technical advice and support to testers, business analysts, enterprise architects and other various stakeholders;
- Reviewing the solution architecture and technical designs of existing, new, and upcoming applications.
Skills & Experience required:
- 5+ years’ experience working with one or more of the following Java technologies such as JEE, Servlets and JSP/JSF, EJB & EJB3, JPA, Struts, Spring, SOAP and Web Services;
- Experience with designing, developing, supporting and maintaining capabilities in large complex ICT environments;
- Extensive technical expertise as a senior developer working in production environments and projects with waterfall or agile methodologies;
- Demonstrated ability to quickly gain knowledge of other open source and COTS products/technologies;
- Experience with other technologies and tools: Websphere Application Server, SQL/ESQL, Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB), IBM Integration Bus (IIB), JMS, MQ, DB2, AIX O/S, Oracle, Teradata, SVN, Git, Jenkins, WComponents, Python/Jython and Oxygen - Desirable;
- Experience working in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment – Desirable.
