MTP Services is currently seeking a Senior Linux Engineer for a 12 month contract within a large Government client in Canberra! Start ASAP! 

The successful applicant will have - 

• Experience managing Enterprise Linux servers 
• Knowledge of servers and switches
• Familiar with fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
• Strong experience with Spacewalk
• Strong grasp on configuration management and deployment tools. ie. Puppet & Ansible 
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMWare
• Familiar with version control, ie. git
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Familiar with load balancing, firewalls and iptables

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated experience in an enterprise environment working as a Senior Linux Engineer, with RHEL/Oracle Linux 6+
• Linux SOE Development and strategic direction
• Demonstrated experience working work automation, orchestration and scripting tools: Puppet, Spacewalk, Ansible. Knowledge of Shell and/or Python scripting and version control (Git)
• Building and administering database infrastructure running on Linux (Oracle)
• Troubleshooting skills across multiple infrastructures ie. Operating Systems, Networking & Virtualisation

Security Clearance 
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be Australian Citizens.  This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
