Our client is a well known, international organisation in Brisbane's inner Suburbs who are seeking a Systems/Network Engineer to sit in their Technical Services team. This cross-functional DevOps team are responsible for providing responsive technical support to the Service Delivery, Operations and Security Teams in addition to building and implementing new technology solutions and projects. The team could benefit from strong Cisco networking skills. This is a permanent role paying up to $120,000 package.
The Responsibilities
• Provide responsive and specialist Technical Support to the Service Delivery, Operations and Security Teams.
• Follow agreed procedures for Infrastructure Change Management, Escalation, Incident and Problem Management.
• Maintain regular and accurate log entries of fault, investigation and resolution detail.
• Work on tasks as assigned independently (not in isolation) to quality outcomes whilst keeping stakeholders well informed.
• Ensure where required incidents are escalated to the appropriate Teams, Management and/or service providers according to established procedures.
• Take a proactive approach to solve reoccurring problems at the source and not rely on temporary fixes.
• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the various Infrastructure Technology knowledgebase and procedures.
• Seek out opportunities and contribute to improve Technical Services practices.
• Represent Technical Services in projects, contribute to the requirements and the design, and participate in project work as assigned.
• Contribute to building capability in more junior staff through the sharing of knowledge and experience, active training, coaching and mentioning.
• Participate in ongoing team training.
The Requirements
Essentia
o 7+ years of relevant system administration, operations, support or solutions implementation coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications.
o Advanced hands on system administration, problem solving and implementation skills and knowledge with hardware and software across 3 or more of the following technologies:
o Cisco Networking (routing, switching, WiFi, LAN & WAN) (Mandatory)
Palo Alto Firewalls (NextGen)
BlueCoat Proxies
Microsoft Server (Active Directory, SQL Server, Windows Server)
VMware
Linux Server
IBM i
AWS (or other Cloud based IAAS)
Avaya or Interactive Intelligence Telephony
IBM or NetApp Storage
Citrix XenApp & Netscalers
Email (Google Apps, O365 or Exchange)
NetBackup, BRMS (or equivalent enterprise backup solution)
Systems Automation, Scheduling and Scripting (Windows or Linux)
OnBase
Enterprise monitoring suites (PRTG, VictorOps, Halcyon or equivalent)
o Excellent knowledge of systems and network security administration practices, standards and policies.
o Excellent time management and communication skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects, requests and problems at once and to be able to work within prioritised frameworks.
o Strong delivery outcomes and customer service focus.
Preferred
o Industry recognised technical certifications.
o Security training and certifications.
o Infrastructure Architecture principles, practices application thereof, knowledge and experience.
