Service Desk Officer required - Council Organisation - Until February 2019 - 3 days per week

Your new company

You will be working for a Council organisation based 3 km from Melbourne CBD. They are committed to efficiently and effectively servicing the community to the highest standards, protecting, enhancing and developing the City’s physical and social environment. They require a Service Desk Officer until February 2019.

Your new role

Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager you will be working 3 days per week. You will be:

  • Ensuring that all Information Technology desktop systems are operating effectively.
  • Providing operational and strategic input into the overall management of the branch
  • Providing first level network support
  • Providing timely feedback on the status of allocated jobs via the Service Desk system
  • Proactively and reactively ensuring user equipment is operating effectively
  • Logging and following up on all systems errors as reported
  • Contributing to the documentation of system and installation procedures
  • Ensuring the maintenance of systems security and integrity including user access


What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous Service Desk experience would be highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows 7-10
  • General networking troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work within SLA’s
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and 3rd party’s
  • Ability to plan and undertake complex investigatory tasks.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
