Green Light are currently looking for a Storage  Consultant to assist one of our well known, reputable ICT clients in Sydney. The Storage Consultant will serve as the Lead Storage Engineer in the design, implementation, and management of the storage environment.

You will get the opportunity to leverage across multiple storage technologies ensuring our clients receive experienced technical knowledge in storage and data protection technologies and services, through the application of subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business and technical issues within established guidelines.

Responsibilities:-

• Provide technical design and implementation support on storage solutions
• Contribute to the architecture framework and contributing to the IT vision and strategy
• Implement detailed  storage designs based on project needs
• Review future designs for technical supportability within existing team capability
• Provide guidance for other storage and backup support personnel.
• Provide specialist technical support for delivery team.
• Implement new and expansions of storage allocations
• Manage Storage Reporting Tools and Management Consoles
• Responsible for contributing to the Service Level framework and in insuring infrastructure alignment with this framework
• Responsible for engineering infrastructure solutions in alignment with standards and patterns
• Responsible for meeting project milestones to insure program and project objectives are met in a timely manner.
• drive storage strategies and recommend industry best practices for storage solutions provide proactive storage forecasting, design and deploy effective storage solutions, research new and emerging technologies.
• Day-to-day storage management
• Trouble shooting, and providing support services around Storage systems and Virtualization infrastructure.

Requirements

• Demonstrated in IT with a minimum of 5-7 years dedicated to implementing and managing multi-vendor enterprise storage technologies.
• Primary experience needs to be in at two one of the following Hitachi VSP, HP 3PAR, P9500 Storage Arrays and Cisco or Brocade Fabric
• Strong experience with HP-UX, CX7000, Synergy & Nimble
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in an organisation with a mature approach to change management
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently in a challenging and dynamic environment
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients
• Experience with disaster recovery strategies
• Demonstrated ability in solving both common and complex technical problems
• Drive storage strategies and recommend industry best practices for storage solutions, provide proactive storage forecasting, design and deploy effective storage solutions, research new and emerging technologies
• In depth knowledge of storage concepts and architecture
• Strong understanding of EMC storage solution
• Comprehensive understanding of IT processes and best practices relative to backup and recovery Replication/DR - Storage replication technologies
• Experience working in a consultancy/ service provider/ professional services
• Ability to excel under high pressure environments
