We are seeking an Engineer with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in a network engineering related role, preferably in a service provider environment and with exposure to provisioning and service delivery tasks.
This role is full time and based in our Wynnum office, on Brisbane's bayside.
Below is an outline of some of the responsibilities and duties of this role:
- Accepts and tracks provisioning requests from the Service Delivery Team
- Assists partners and clients to complete data capture forms accurately and on time
- Provisions, configures, and dispatches hardware devices to client sites for installation
- Completes and/or coordinates completion of all related provisioning tasks, enlisting support from other teams as required
- Updates the Service Delivery Team on the progress of key project deliverables and milestones, noting any unexpected delays
- Liaises with suppliers regarding the delivery of services, hardware and software
- Enters timely and accurate updates into Salesforce as required
Skills & Experience
Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with:
o Common L1 media types and physical interfaces, e.g.:
- UTP copper Cat3/5/6 etc—RJ-12 6P4C, RJ-45 8P8C interfaces, etc
- SM/MM fibre optic—SC/LC/ST fibre interfaces, etc
o Common L2 protocols and switching platforms, e.g.:
- Ethernet: 100BASE-T/FX, 1000BASE-T/X, 10GBASET/R, 802.1Q, 802.1P, etc
- xDSL: ASDL1, ADSL2+, VDSL, etc
- EFM: EoC, MBE, Metro Ethernet, EPON, GPON GEM
- Cisco Catalyst, Brocade ICX, Huawei VRP, etc
o MPLS, including: PW/VLL, VPLS, VPRN/VRF etc
o Common L3 protocols and routing platforms, e.g.:
- IPv4 addressing & CIDR subnetting, RFC1918, etc
- Routing protocols, esp. RIP, OSPF and BGP, etc
- Access Control Lists,
- Cisco IOS, Huawei VRP, etc
o IP QoS mechanisms, including:
- DiffServ/DSCP
- Packet classification/queuing/forwarding schemes
- Traffic shaping and policing mechanisms
o UTM/NGFW platforms, preferably Fortinet, including at least:
- Policy implementation
- Source & Destination NAT
- VPNs, including IPSEC & SSL VPN
o NMS and trending tools, including: SNMP, ICMP, SLA polling, etc
o Common IP services and protocols including:
- Radius, L2TP, DHCP, TFTP, IPSec, SSL, DNS, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, TELNET, SSH, etc
o Microsoft Office product suite, esp. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent written and spoken English communication skills and have general knowledge of provisioning, billing and support functions in a service provider environment.
