John Wardle Architects (JWA) is a highly creative design studio recognised for the quality of award-winning, finely detailed projects. We have several exciting prospects for great talent to join us in our open plan converted warehouse studio.

JWA foster a collaborative culture and comprise of a dynamic team who value high level and intricate design. THE ROLES

Our projects are diverse and often complex, ranging between small to large in the areas of urban design, public, cultural, education, health, multi-residential and commercial projects.

The outlook in our studio has identified the need for several opportunities in the design and delivery of significant projects, outlined below:

Project Architect / Project Leader Role

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Architect / Project Leader with experience in design development, documentation and delivery of significant complex, large-scale projects. 

We are interested in your strengths and how they would effectively contribute to the design and delivery of our projects.

Key responsibilities / Previous high-level experience:

• responsibility for developing ideas in an exploratory, collaborative work environment
• high attention to detail with a curious approach to design
• day to day management of multiple teams on large-scale projects from initial briefing to completion
• leading the delivery of projects as either Project Director or Project Architect
• team building and leadership - lead a team and engage with the Design Principals
• exceptional communication and client management skills in a team environment
• outstanding skills in hand drawn design detailing
• proven recent experience in quality design lead roles
• desire and ability to drive new market opportunities and building client relationships
• awareness of contractual responsibilities of the project including brief, scope, and deliverables
• communicating effectively on the status of the project, deliverables and resources
• exemplary project planning: resource modelling, programming, and task allocation
• working proficiency with Revit based software

Architect / Experienced Architectural Graduate Role

We are building our project teams across a range of sectors and are seeking Architects and experienced Architectural Graduates or Documenters with extensive prior design and documentation experience in a design focused, top tier practice.

Requirements – Previous experience:

• excellent technical knowledge, documentation skills
• keen design eye and attention to detail
• exceptional coordination skills
• a strong team player with autonomy
• willingness to learn and critical thinker
• outstanding Revit skills
