The role
The Senior User Experience Designer role is primarily responsible for assisting with invention, concept direction and generating ideas toward a solution, while ensuring the design is coherent, cohesive, and satisfies user needs and business objectives. The goal is to create the most compelling, easy-to-use and differentiated product user experiences in the Australian market.
Key responsibilities
- Translation and delivery of business objectives into feasible user experience design outcomes, including experience design outcomes, customer research insight and synthesis, customer journey maps and flow diagrams, interaction design and wireframes, visual design assets and clickable prototypes for customer testing.
- Deliver the execution and governance of design projects against specific business, project, technical and user experience objectives.
- Plan and deliver world-class UI designs or research on-time and on-price, from conception right through to completion.
- Understand and advocate a UX strategy for the given digital assets to help communicate the future UX vision to project and delivery teams
- Ensure user experience consistency across projects and business units where appropriate.
- Alignment to key design principles, brand requirements, patterns and style guides across digital assets, capabilities and channels.
- Work directly with the broader Digital Design team to contribute and apply consistent operational processes and documentation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across the various Telstra groups to ensure buy in to the strategic direction
Experience
- Education in user research, design, human-computer interaction (HCI), usability or related disciplines (or ability to display formal understanding of theory and practices)
- Previous proven experience contributing to design teams and project teams
- Proven record in digital design project delivery
- Proven experience managing stakeholders - internal and external
