Meriton, Australia’s larger property developer, has a volume of large scale multi-unit and mixed-use projects currently under development, with more projects consistently in the pipeline.

We are seeking an energetic, collaborative professional with leadership qualities, high attention to detail, great time management skills and excellent communication skills to join our growing team.

You will ideally be a registered architect and a great forward planner, able to anticipate and resolve problems, identify and manage design-related risks, and resolve buildability issues.

Key elements of this role include:

• Managing external architects/consultants to refine design, external finishes, internal layouts and detailing, as well as identify and maximise value engineering opportunities
•  Working with inhouse documentation team to deliver multiple projects
• Preparing project briefs and reviewing project scopes/fees

• Managing process and ensuring timely delivery of projects and documentation

• Ensure projects are properly costed at all stages of design development to ensure they are delivered on budget

• Ensure quality design which respond to market demands and reflect sales departments requirements

• Manage and maintain Meriton Design Standards

• Liaise with internal management for necessary approvals/sign-off at key milestones

Skills

• High level of experience in multi-residential and mixed-use development (essential)

• Value management expertise for both buildings and landscaping

• Good understanding of planning controls (NSW & QLD) and building regulations including ADG/NCC
• In-depth construction knowledge with good documentation and on-site experience. (important)

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time
• Working closely with our in-house sales and marketing, planning, construction executives and external consultants, you will lead the architectural direction for specific major projects, to ensure high quality design is delivered to budget and program.
• Revit skills are a major advantage, together with AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign, and ideally you will also have your own transport.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years architectural experience
• Registered Architects are preferred for this role and Architectural qualifications are a pre-requisite
• Knowledge of urban design and street scaping, architectural and construction detailing, BCA, relevant Australian standards and local authority requirements.
• Experience as either a Project Architect or previous Design Manager
• Strong under pressure- you will be dealing with site staff, architects, builders, and working closely with the Director of Construction and Managing Director.
