Bookkeeper - Casual

A very rare opportunity has become available at Stearns Showcase Jewellers and they require an experienced bookkeeper to join their team.

Experience the role requires:

• Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience 
• Formal bookkeeping qualification
• Extensive knowledge of Payroll and HR matters
• ATO portal experience
• Previous experience with KPI's, P&L and Balance Sheet
• Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks including payroll 
• Ability to soundly maintain the general ledger 
• Liaise with external accountant monthly and implement any accounting work required

Duties will include but not limited to:

• Fortnightly payroll of 25 staff members
• Ensure the business is compliant with the ATO 
• BAS PAYG preparation and lodgement
• Weekly bank reconciliations
• Maintain the budget
• Accounts payable/receivable 
• Monthly reporting and KPI's
• Reviewing and maintaining the employees award as required
• Liaising between the 3 stores 
• Work cover compliance
• All other general bookkeeping duties
• Any other adhoc duties required by management

The person we are looking for will have the following qualities and attributes

• Friendly and outgoing personally 
• Must be a quick learner and able to adjust quickly 
• Ability to implement changes and think outside of the box 
• High attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skill
• Previous experience within the retail sector
• Must supply min of 2 references 

This is a casual position and will not exceed any more than 8 hours per week. You must be available to work on a Monday the other day is flexible and if required.  You must also be available for an immediate start.
