The role:
The Administration Assistant is responsible for providing high quality administration support to the team based at the Townsville office. A key focus of this role will be to perform all general administration duties including answering phones, filing, word processing and data entry.
The Administration Assistant will be responsible for:
- Customer Service provided to staff, volunteers and clients of St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland to maintain professionalism in accordance with policies and procedures
- Administration duties are performed within set timeframes as per set policies and procedures including typing, filling, photocopying, ordering and distribution of stationery, banking, postage and maintenance of vehicle/plant/equipment registers when required
- Provides assistance to the Centres of Charity and members of the Society
- Prepare for meetings including booking, setting up meeting rooms etc,
- Assist with event management, and compilation of newsletter
Essential criteria:
- Minimum Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent
- Previous administration experience working in an autonomous capacity highly advantageous
- Strong computer literacy and advanced knowledge of MS Word
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A flexible, proactive attitude and ability with work with minimal supervision
- Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
- Satisfactory completion of National Criminal History Records Check prior to commencement and every 3 years thereafter
