Our client is a proudly Australian based, vertically integrated produce company.

They were established in early 2016 following the acquisition of key fruit category production and supply chains in Australia. The Senior Management team has over 150 years of industry experience, which has enabled them to grow at a rapid-pace.

Due to their rapid growth, the company is currently looking to employ a suitably qualified Operations Supervisor.

This is a full-time position in the Sunraysia Packing Shed, to effectively run the Pre- Grade line on a day to day basis, under the direction of the packing shed management team.

The position requires an individual who is well organised with good time management skills, and who can communicate effectively and in a courteous manner with internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage the Pre-Grade line via an effective and proactive supervisory presence to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Liaise with the Quality Manager on a day to day basis to ensure the correct quality standards are met
  • Set and control the operation of the Global Scan vision system to obtain accurate performance which meet specifications and packing instructions
  • Control fruit inputs with the receivals forklift driver and ensure fruit has been inspected and received correctly.
  • Liaise with the designated chemical operator to ensure that effective and timely monitoring and management of all line functions are carried out in a timely manner
  • Ensure the fruit label applicators are functioning to their full potential and general maintenance when required
  • Follow Occupation Health & Safety Policies and Procedures and help ensure all packing shed staff complies with occupational health and safety, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Report repairs and maintenance requirements promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Assist and control end of season cleaning of all lines in the facility.

To be considered for this position, applicants must show a willingness and commitment to work extra hours when required (including night shift), have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have strong IT skills.

Candidates must also have a manual drivers licence and forklift licence to be eligible for this role.

Experience in a similar type position, and experience in a citrus or farm-based setting will be looked upon favourably. Previous experience with high-speed machinery and blemish grading systems, along with a Chemical Handling certificate, will also be beneficial to your application.
