Reporting to the Regional Corporate Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the operations of the farm to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. Leading with a strong focus on Safety & Quality, your challenge will be to impact the bottom line through driving continuous improvement and cost control, whilst delivering outstanding outcomes for important metrics including safety, quality and farm efficiency.

Key responsibilities and duties of this role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Running the day-to-day operations including coordinating and leading all farm/crop and workshop staff and processes;
  • Ensure that quality of product produced is to company standard QA and conduct continuous audits of farmed products;
  • Monitor staff performance and constantly review training needs;
  • As part of the risk management, total operation risk assessment and mitigation strategies will be advised developed and implemented in line with legislation;
  • Ensure all financial, quality, human resources, audit and procedure, quality systems, cleanliness, production and procurement benchmarks are to be met within company guidelines.
  • Arrange the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment
  • Identify hazards in work practices and put in effective controls in place to mitigate these hazards.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • developing, implementing and maintaining the preventative maintenance program for the farm.

Are you agile, internally driven with an eye for detail and capable of achieving the long-term growth objectives for the company? You will also possess;

  • 5+ years’ experience in a farming environment
  • Sound mechanical knowledge;
  • Strong people & performance management & mentoring skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • First Aid Certification
  • Strong customer focus
  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to safety
  • Proven background & knowledge in people management & HR principles
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards & compliance
  • Systematic approach to processes and farming operations
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Proven experience in managing budgets
  • Ability to lead and influence
