The primary role of this position is to undertake skilled rehabilitation and maintenance activities within the natural area network under the management of the Works, Parks and Recreation Department in accordance with Council’s adopted service standards and conservation principles. The appointee will be required to ensure all assigned tasks are completed with limited supervision through the efficient and effective utilisation of resources, liaison with supervisory staff and planning officers and through the coordination of team members, contractors and other services when the supervisor is unavailable.
The successful applicant will be required to work with limited supervision, have good verbal and written communication skills and provide excellent customer service. They will also possess the following:
- Current “C” class drivers licence
- Current ACDC Licence
- Minimum of 1 years demonstrated field experience in conservation/natural areas or related field
- Demonstrated experience in identification and management of native flora
- Demonstrated experience in weed identification and management
- General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Card
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Current “MR” Licence
- Chainsaw Level 1
