The Role

Working in Neighbourhood Teams in your very own community, under the direction of a Team Co-ordinator, the Support Worker assists and supports our clients, in line with their NDIS plan, to achieve their goals through a person-centred approach of ‘choice and control’.

We are currently recruiting Support Workers for both existing and future (next 3 months) roles in and around all rural and metropolitan areas of Perth.

Day to day duties may include (but are not limited to)

  • Assisting clients with personal care and manual handling;
  • Assisting clients to complete and/or develop life-skills in household duties and yard/home maintenance, such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, budgeting etc;
  • Transporting clients to appointments and/or shopping;
  • Assisting clients in building client self-image and self-confidence;
  • Assisting clients in social and community participation;
  • Planning and facilitating recreational activities;
  • Promoting independence and well-being;
  • Medical administration (if qualified);
  • Administration, e.g. daily journal reporting;
  • Working within the NDIS guidelines and escalate relevant information to Team Co-ordinators.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, the candidate would possess:

  • An enthusiastic outlook, and a very open, friendly, bubbly personality;
  • Be a compassionate and empathetic person who possess strong listening and oral communication skills and patience;
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries;
  • A first hand understanding of clients with complex needs;
  • Experience with either a disability, or lived experience around those who have disabilities;
  • A WWCC and NPC (essential);
  • C class license, access to a reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance (essential);
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).
